Who was that bloke with the plastic face that murdered Tiny Dancer? A less sensitive rendition you couldn't imagine - it was that gruesome that it was awe inspiring hahaha

had a preview of what Hell would be like when flipping through the channels the other night. I saw a bit of Glastonbury with Elton John on the stage. Imagine spending eternity, surrounded by baying morons listening to naff pop music. Horrific!

Re: Glastonbury
There is a Capaldi documentary (not sure if this is right way to describe it) on Netflix, its about an hour and half long from memory. Shows how his condition has progressively got worse. He is not the only singer to experience this before.

Seems like a top lad, from a normal background and it's quite a sad watch how his health deteroirates. Not sure how people come up with the notion he puts it on. He is a very likeable bloke with a big following considering how long he has been about.

I know the outside press and social media SLATE those acts which are past it / just shit ..... but has anyone on the BBC coverage ever turned around and said ..... WELL THAT WAS CRAP WASN'T IT?

I know they used to have a Legend slot for some old timer to make an appearance but appears now that many of the headliners are OAP's well past their prime

Relive the real Glastonbury experience by emptying your bank account then standing in a field full of mud for 12 hours whilst going to the loo in a plastic pint glass before settling down for the night in a bin bag under a hedge.

I worked at a Capaldi gig in Stockholm a few months ago.

Bloke on the touring crew said that Tourettes thing happens EVERY SHOW.

Make of that what you will.

Re: Glastonbury
When I was a kid there was a festival in Essex called the Chelmsford spectator

It had a stage for undiscovered acts, a stage for pop acts and lots of old stars form yester year from Boney M to Alexander O’Neil

A bit like what glastonbury is now

Re: Glastonbury
It's all gotten a bit middle class, and the way the BBC fawn over it is a little embarrassing with 'live updates' on the news page and proclaiming every single act a triumph etc.

Re: Glastonbury
It’s the entertainment industry
He’s a trained actor
Actors act

He has what one song? And has managed to string out a lengthy and lucrative career for him and his record company where the lead story on him is always his mental health.

The Tourette’s tick he has at glastonbury has a like nothing he has ever had before.

If I was a cynical person id say it was over egged to create a story around him.

I’m not cynical so I wish him all the best with his health. I hope he gets better

He's quite the actor then.

Re: Glastonbury
Capaldi is a white, middle-class Scotsman who pretends to be a black inner-city Londoner when he 'sings'.

Why would anyone believe he actually suffers from Tourette's?

Re: Glastonbury
My youngest son wants to take me to Glastonbury in the next few years, could be dangerous he'll be in his early twenties I'll be early fifties.

Watched a bit of it on iPlayer, enjoyed The Lightning Seeds, Astley (both sets), Manic Street Preachers, Chvrches and Cat Stevens. Still want to catch The Editors and Queens of the Stoneage.

Of the headliners Arctic Monkeys seemed embarrassed to play anything from their first album and only did Mardy Bum and I Bet You Look Good On The Dance floor because they had to. Alex Turner was far too busy getting lost in a persona of a washed up crooner trying to reinvent himself.

G'N'R - Slash and Duff McKagan saved the set, Axl's voice is shot but I thought they still belted out a good set.

Elton - Watched him on and off as the missus wanted to watch his set, quite surprised I enjoyed what I watched as I've never been into his music.

Dave Grohl was getting on my fucking nerves in the end, I like Foo Fighters but was everywhere guesting for anyone who have him on stage.

Really felt for Lewis Capaldi, not into his music but no one wants that to happen to someone live on set and tv. Voice gone, tourettes ticks taking him over and mentally beating himself up and explaining he'd recently taken a few weeks out due to work pressure on his mental health but he really wanted to do Glastonbury. It was quite a moment when the crowd stepped up and sung his song for him while stood on stage getting emotional.

I do hope he'll be ok, as a dad I just wanted to put my arm around him and tell him it'll be ok.

Re: Glastonbury
If I have to pay for it myself then the only ‘festival’ I’ll entertain is the shiine weekend in minehead. You get your own shower, bog and bed. This years line up isn’t very strong imho but I’m on holiday when it’s on anyway.

Done a few festivals via work, was on the police tour about 12 years ago and having the headlining band you get treated like royalty, AAA passes and catering tickets even if your band isn’t playing that night.

Been Glastonbury twice now with work but haven’t heard a note played.

Standing on the pyramid stage looking out over empty fields was a brilliant feeling tho. All I was doing was delivering lights.
